The struggle

This year we were met with a problem new to us. We didn't miss a submission deadline, we didn't have any critical bugs (that I know of), but our game is unplayable in its finished state. Let me be clear, this is not an issue on our side. I have the exact final build zip file, which I uploaded 32 minutes into the grace period, sitting on my desktop. Here's the SHA512 hash in case I need it later: 12d7871c55bece24e06b4c68731b6e2953a9df1410188104319d1fa4925b77f7ebc749cf55f60f64a52df4b91c863298d6d9e72023e7abe89a118211e6797185.

This file, when uploaded to any game page, works. The game works. The exact same file, when enabled on this page, does not. Itch.io just says "loading game for the first time". And no, it is not loading the game, at least not successfully. Tired me saw how long it was taking to load and brushed it off because itch's servers were overloaded as they are with any good GMTK jam (that's why the upload took so long). An hour later after sprucing up the game page and a quick break, I was extremely concerned. I contacted itch support at 2:32pm my time (submissions closed at 2:00pm). Then I took  a much needed nap.

I am writing this after waking up from said nap, seeing a barrage of comments saying it won't load, and making the executive decision to use an outdated build. After all, something is better than nothing and as much as I would like to link to the exact same working file on a different page, I don't want to get disqualified, so this will have to do. I will make a new post if we get any updates.
